Professor Paul Devroey
received his medical education at the Dutch-speaking Catholic University of Louvain in 1971. He achieved his PhD in Gynecology, Obstetrics and Infertility on oocyte donation in 1989 at the Dutch-speaking Brussels Free University, which pioneered in 1991 the use of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). He is currently Professor of Reproductive Medicine at the medical campus of the Dutch-speaking Brussels Free University, Clinical Director of the Center for Reproductive Medicine at the same University and Visiting Professor at the University of Utrecht since 2005. He is an Editorial Board member of "Fertility and Sterility" and "Acta Obstetrica et Gynecologica Scandinavica", has been Associate Editor of Human Reproduction Update from 1998 to 2004 and Chairman of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) from 2005 to 2007. Professor Paul Devroey was author and co-author of 464 international peer reviewed articles, received 3 national and 4 international research awards and has written 3 books. He was (Co-) President of the Belgian National Committee for Bio-ethics in 2005 and since March 2008 he has been a member of the Ethics Review Process of the European Commission.

Professor Rui Alberto Ferriani
was born in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil, on August 12 1956. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo in 1979. He had his training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Hospital das Clínicas de Ribeirão Preto, received his Master’s there in 1984 and his doctorate in 1988. In 1991 to 1992 he undertook postdoctoral training in Reproductive Medicine at University of Cambridge, UK. Since 1997 he is Full Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo, Ribeirão Preto, Brazil where he is also an active member of the Faculty Staff. He is also chief of the Human Reproduction Section of the Hospital das Clínicas de Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo. Professor Rui Ferriani is currently Scientific Director of the Brazilian Society of Endometriosis. He is also member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, North American Menopause Society and World Endometriosis Society. Professor Ferriani has been Ad Hoc Reviewer of many journals, such as Human Reproduction, Fertility and Sterility, Gynecological Endocrinology, Clinical Endocrinology, the Brazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research and the Brazilian Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has published numerous articles and has participated as guest professor in many national and international congresses.

Professor Pasquale Patrizio
is a board certified specialist in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He is Professor of Obstetrics/Gynecology and Medical Director, Yale Fertility Center and Reproductive Endocrinology. Dr. Patrizio received his MD from the University of Naples, Italy, and completed two residencies, Obstetrics & Gynecology (Naples) and Andrology (Pisa, Italy). After moving to the USA he completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of California. In August 2003 he completed a Master’s in Bioethics (MBE) at the University of Pennsylvania and became certified as High Complexity Laboratory Director (HCLD). He joined Yale faculty in January 2004 as Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Patrizio has lectured throughout the world on the topics of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Male Infertility and Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI). He is member of the editorial board of the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Journal of Andrology. He serves as reviewer for many scientific journals including Lancet, Human Reproduction, Fertility and Sterility, Reproductive Biomedicine and ad hoc reviewer for JAMA and for NIH grants. Dr. Patrizio has authored a prominent Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) textbook and has 282 scientific papers, book chapters and abstracts including 92 peer-review publications, 36 as 1st author, and 19 as senior author.

Professor Antonio Pellicer
obtained his Medical Degree at the University of Valencia in 1978. He was Associate Professor at the School of Medicine of the University of Valencia from 1980 to 1982 and Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology from 1986 to 1999. Professor Antonio Pellicer has been Full Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the University of Valencia, Spain since 1999 and Dean of the School of Medicine at the University of Valencia since 2006. Professor Pellicer is founder and Director of the Instituto Valenciano de Infertilidad (IVI) and is also Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hospital Universitario Dr Peset in Valencia. He is (co)-author of over 200 textbook chapters, has published over 500 journal articles in international journals and presented over 350 lectures at national and international symposia. Professor Pellicer is a member of many scientific societies devoted to human reproduction and has received many grants and awards, including the “King Jaime I Prize in Clinical Medicine” in 2004 and he is also a six-time winner of the Annual Meeting Prize Paper of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine between 1987 and 2005.

Professor PC Wong
obtained his Master of Medicine (Obs. & Gyn.) at the University of Singapore (MMed) in 1980. He completed a fellowship at Academy of Medicine in Singapore in 1984, at the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists in London in 1994 and at the College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists in Singapore in 2004 as well as an Honorary Fellowship at the Philippine Obstetrical & Gynecological Society (Foundation) in 2006. He is Professor at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology of the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine of the National University of Singapore and is also Senior Consultant & Head of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology of the National University Hospital of Singapore as well as Gynecology Consultant at Mt. Elizabeth Medical Centre also in Singapore. Furthermore, Professor Wong is Director of the Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) Program in the National University Hospital. He is active in postgraduate education in the field of ART and has conducted and participated in numerous courses in the region. He was the first President of the Asia-Pacific Initiative on Reproduction (ASPIRE) from 2006 to 2008.
