Professor Rui Alberto Ferriani
was born in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil, on August 12 1956. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo in 1979. He had his training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Hospital das Clínicas de Ribeirão Preto, received his Master’s there in 1984 and his doctorate in 1988. In 1991 to 1992 he undertook postdoctoral training in Reproductive Medicine at University of Cambridge, UK. Since 1997 he is Full Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo, Ribeirão Preto, Brazil where he is also an active member of the Faculty Staff. He is also chief of the Human Reproduction Section of the Hospital das Clínicas de Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo. Professor Rui Ferriani is currently Scientific Director of the Brazilian Society of Endometriosis. He is also member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, North American Menopause Society and World Endometriosis Society. Professor Ferriani has been Ad Hoc Reviewer of many journals, such as Human Reproduction, Fertility and Sterility, Gynecological Endocrinology, Clinical Endocrinology, the Brazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research and the Brazilian Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has published numerous articles and has participated as guest professor in many national and international congresses.

Professor Dr Paula Andrea Navarro
was born in São José do Rio Preto, Brazil, on May 17 1972. She graduated from Ribeirão Preto Medical School, in 1995. She received her training in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Ribeirão Preto Clinical Hospital (1996–1999), and received her Master’s Degree in 2000 and her PhD in 2003. She worked as Research Fellow in Human Reproduction and Infertility at the Women and Infant’s Hospital, Brown University, Providence-RI, USA and at the Laboratory for Reproductive Medicine, Marine Biological Laboratory, Woods Hole-MA, USA (2001–2002). She since 2006 she is a Full Professor. Dr Paula Navarro is an active member of the Faculty Staff of the Ribeirão Preto Medical School and currently the Director of Hospital-based IVF Center, a Member of the Division of Gynecological Reproductive Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ribeirão Preto Medical School and the Coordinator of the Internship in Gynecology and Obstetrics (during the sixth year of the Medical School). Dr. Paula Navarro is currently a member of Brazilian Society of Gynecological Endocrinology, Brazilian Society of Assisted Reproduction, Brazilian Society of Human Reproduction, Brazilian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Brazilian Society of Endometriosis. She is also member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and World Endometriosis Society. Dr. Paula Navarro has been Ad Hoc Reviewer of Human Reproduction, Fertility and Sterility, International Journal of Gynecology & Obstetrics and Revista Brasileira de Ginecologia e Obstetrícia. She has published some articles and has participated as guest professor in many national congresses.

Professor Dr Fábio Firmbach Pasqualotto
received his M.D. degree from the University of Caxias do Sul, RS, Brazil in 1993. He completed his residency in general surgery and urology in the Santa Casa Hospital, Porto Alegre, Brazil in 1997. He was a Research Fellow at the Center for Advanced Research in Human Reproduction, Infertility and Sexual Function, Cleveland Clinic Foundation from 1998-1999. He received his Masters degree (2001) and Ph.D. degree (2002) from the Department of Urology, University of São Paulo, Brazil. He is a Full Professor of Anatomy and Urology and post-graduation in Biotechnology, at the University of Caxias do Sul, Professor and Professor of Clinical Andrology in the post-graduate course in Infertility and Human Reproduction, Sapientiae Institute, São Paulo, Brazil.Also, he is researcher of the Brazilian Counsel of Technologic and Scientific Development, Brazil. In addition, he is the Director of CONCEPTION - Center for Human Reproduction, Caxias do Sul, RS, Brazil. Dr. Pasqualotto received the Society for Male Reproduction and Urology (SMRU) travel award from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) in 1999 and the International Society for Andrology (ISA) travel award in 2001. He is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Andrology Section of the Brazilian Society for Human Reproduction. His special interests are in the area of andrology are: the pathophysiology of male infertility, sperm cryopreservation, microsurgery, clinical and surgical treatment of male infertility. His research interests include: erectile dysfunction, male contraception, hormonal replacement therapy, role of antioxidants in male infertility, sperm pathology and biomarkers of male infertility. Dr. Pasqualotto has been an Ad Hoc Reviewer of the Journals Human Reproduction, Fertility and Sterility, Journal of Urology, Urology, World J of Urology, Gynecological Endocrinology, Clinical Endocrinology, Brazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research Asian Journal of Andrology, American Journal of Reproductive Immunology, Brazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, Reproductive BioMedicine Online, Human Reproduction Update, International Journal of Andrology, Cloning and Stem Cells, Andrologia and other during recent years. Dr. Pasqualotto has published more than 80 original articles and 300 abstracts in American or European journals/meetings, and has held more than 150 presentations at Brazilian meetings.

Dr Ana Carolina Japur de Sá Rosa-e-Silva
was born in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil, on August 18 1973. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Botucatu – at the State of São Paulo University in 1997. She had her training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Hospital das Clínicas de Ribeirão Preto which ended in 2000, after that she received her Master in 2002 and her doctorate in 2004. Her postdoctoral training was in Reproductive Medicine at the Instituto Valenciano de Infertilidad IVI, in Valencia – Spain during 2005–2006. She has been since 2007 a Professor in the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto – University of São Paulo – Division of Human Reproduction. Her current researches are focused on fertility preservation in all its clinical and laboratorial aspects. Dr Ana Carolina has been an Ad Hoc Reviewer of the Journals Fertility and Sterility, International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics and some other Brazilian journals during the last few years.

Jacira Ribeiro Campos
was born in João Pinheiro, Brazil, on April 24, 1982. She graduated with a degree in Biomedicine from University of Uberaba in 2005. She is a Masters student in Biology of Reproduction – Division of Human Reproduction on the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto. Her researches are focused on fertility preservation for cancer patients, especially cryobiology. She currently works with cryopreservation of gametes and ovarian tissue.

Maria Silvina Juchniuk de Vozzi
was born in San Rafael, Mendoza, Argentina, on March 19, 1974. She received her initial training in Cytogenetic Laboratory in Universidad de Misiones, Argentina. She graduated from Universidad de Misiones in 2002, finishing the specialization in Human Cytogenetics at the same University. She obtained her Master degree in Biological Sciences (Post-Graduation Program in Genetics-University of Sao Paulo/RP) in 2006, funded by CNPq. She has started the PhD thesis in 2006 in the same program, with expertise in Reproductive Genetics. The research area is correlated to genetic studies in male infertility. She is a trainee member of The American Society of Human Genetics and participated in different International Meetings with presentations and publications in molecular cytogenetics.

Elisa Melo Ferreira
was born in Ipatinga, Minas Gerais, Brazil, on January 22, 1982. She received her initial training in Biology of Reproduction in Embrapa/CNPGL, Juiz de Fora, Brazil. She graduated from Federal University of Juiz de Fora in 2004. She obtained her Master degree in Medical Sciences (Post-Graduation Program in Gynecology and Obstetrics-University of São Paulo/RP) in 2008, funded by FAPESP. In 2009 she began her PhD thesis in the same Program, with expertise in Physiopathology of Endometriosis Her researches are focused on oocyte in vitro maturation and on the relation of oxidative stress with the Physiopathology of Endometriosis.
